AI Policy

Frontiers in Applied Physics and Mathematics (FAPM) recognizes the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and publishing. The journal supports responsible and transparent use of AI technologies while maintaining research integrity and author accountability.

Use of AI Tools by Authors

Authors may use AI tools for limited purposes such as language improvement, grammar checking, formatting assistance, or data-related support. However:

  • AI tools must not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution, research design, analysis, or scientific judgment.

  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscripts.

  • Any significant use of AI tools that affects the manuscript content must be disclosed.

AI and Authorship

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors or contributors.

  • Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions.

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that AI-assisted content complies with ethical publishing standards.

Disclosure of AI Assistance

Authors should disclose the use of AI tools when they have been used for:

  • Generating or substantially modifying manuscript content.

  • Assisting with data analysis or interpretation.

  • Creating figures, images, or other research materials.

The disclosure should include the name of the AI tool and the purpose of its use.

Responsibilities of Reviewers and Editors

  • Reviewers and editors must maintain confidentiality and should not upload unpublished manuscripts or sensitive information into external AI systems.

  • AI tools may only be used responsibly for administrative or language-support purposes while protecting manuscript confidentiality.

Research Integrity

FAPM does not allow the use of AI tools for generating fraudulent data, manipulating research results, creating false references, or misleading scientific information.
